TCL-2026 Supporters # I was selected as a TCL supporter and will be experiencing and introducing TCL products firsthand for about three months.

When upgrading a TV, my biggest concern wasn’t just the screen size—it was the installation process. Since this product would be mounted on the living room wall, I cared about how the technicians would install it, whether it would match the existing furniture, and if the space wouldn’t feel cramped afterward. This time, I experienced everything firsthand—from unboxing to installation to actual use of the TCL C8L in my living room.

Why I chose the TCL C8L for my living room

Here’s my previous 65-inch TV. To add some liveliness, I installed backlighting.

Nowadays, a TV isn’t just for watching broadcasts—it’s become a major appliance that changes the mood of a living room. Especially when wall-mounted, issues like screen borders, reflections, sound, and cable management all come into play. The TCL C8L is a flagship model featuring SQD Mini LED technology, so I had high expectations for picture quality and was curious if it would fit well with my living room’s interior.

My previous TV was an entry-level model with issues like screen blurring, which prompted this upgrade.

The first thing I paid attention to was color reproduction and brightness. TCL’s emphasized SQD Mini LED combines Super Quantum Dot and Ultra Color Filter technology to cover a wide BT.2020 color gamut. Though the specs sound technical, in real use, landscape or movie scenes show richer reds, greens, and blues with deeper saturation.

Unboxing

The actual size is definitely impressive.

Unboxing was a delightful start. The same delivery person who usually handles our large appliances came again, and they even took the old TV away. On installation day, the technicians checked the product box condition carefully. Handling such a large TV requires caution from the moment the box is opened, and the unpacking and checking process was done calmly. They also inspected the panel thoroughly before and after installation, which built my confidence right from the start. When deciding the wall-mount location, they considered the sofa height and viewing distance in the living room.

Installation process

Even a few centimeters difference changes eye level, so this step was surprisingly important. After installation, the technicians cleaned up packaging and any marks, leaving the living room ready to use immediately. Their explanations were straightforward, covering basic remote control use, picture modes, sound settings, and after-sales service info. Handling a large TV can be complicated if issues arise post-installation, but their professionalism and follow-up guidance eased those concerns.

Changes noticed in living room interior

The sharpness of this premium SQD-Mini LED TV is striking at a glance.

What caught my eye first after installing the TCL C8L was the slim bezel. The WHVA 2.0 Ultra panel creates an almost borderless look, and even when the screen is off, the TV sits flush and neat against the wall. If your living room furniture isn’t too flashy, the wall-mounted TV really enhances the overall interior effect. Low reflection and wide viewing angles are crucial for living rooms. When daylight comes through windows, reflections can be distracting, but the C8L maintained color fidelity even from side angles—not just when viewed head-on. For a family-TV shared space, this visual experience matters more than numbers. The picture quality relies more on balance than sheer brightness.

Even during setup, it was great to see truly deep blacks in dark scenes.

The C8L boasts up to 6,000-nit HDR peak brightness and 4,000 precise dimming zones, which definitely stand out. But it doesn’t mean every scene is overly bright. Bright areas are highlighted while dark scenes get localized dimming, enhancing depth and realism when watching movies or dramas.

The Mini LED advantages really show during nighttime scenes or concerts with many lights. Light sources appear sharp without bleeding, and bright subtitles or highlights don’t glow excessively. Scenes that looked hazy on my old TV are easy to notice improvements on.

As mentioned earlier, my previous living room TV was a 65-inch budget model. While it was fine for general broadcasts, HDR content and high-res YouTube videos sometimes showed color bleeding, especially in scenes with large blocks of color like red lights, sky, or grass.

With the C8L, sports broadcasts and YouTube videos made the difference clear. Colors weren’t overly spread out, and bright and dark areas were well separated, giving a more organized and crisp image.

Sound experience from Bang & Olufsen (Audio by Bang & Olufsen)

I often play music while working from home during the day, and the sound quality is surprisingly good.

Many wonder if they need a separate soundbar when upgrading their TV. The TCL C8L stands out with its built-in Bang & Olufsen audio, delivering clear news voices and movie dialogues. For typical living room use with general broadcasts and OTT content, the built-in sound is quite satisfying.

Official descriptions emphasize B&O tuning and surround acoustic design, which minimizes the feeling of voices and background sounds being separate. So I didn’t feel the need to immediately add a soundbar.

An additional home cinema setup might still require extra gear. But the TV’s own sound isn’t tinny, and its stand is centered on the shelf, making placement stable and neat.

Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision

I chose not to use a separate TV stand for sound quality reasons. Proper sound requires some space at the back.

If your living room often shows movies and sports, the TCL C8L is well-suited with its support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. The 75-inch large screen pairs well with bright, low-reflection performance and nearly borderless design, enhancing immersion and the room’s ambiance simultaneously. However, for small rooms used only briefly for broadcasts, this level of specs might feel excessive. This TV fits best as a living room model considering installation, brightness, color accuracy, and sound.

Review of the 75-inch Android TV TCL C8L

This TCL C8L installation review focused more on how the living room transformed than just the product itself. From technician visits to unboxing, wall mounting, tidying up, and usage explanation, every step was smooth, and picture plus sound improvements were immediately noticeable. When choosing a TV, don’t just consider price—also think about installation experience and real living room impressions. Summarized as a TCL new product review, the C8L confidently offers great picture specs while balancing interior fit and sound quality. For those wanting a large screen neatly installed and a home cinema vibe, this is definitely worth comparing.
