Review of the OIA Mega Air Light Circulator: quiet fan for circulating air-conditioned air in the living room this summer

In summer, even when the air conditioner is on, often only one side of the living room feels cool, while the kitchen or inner areas take longer to cool down. Especially in living rooms with an elongated layout, the air conditioner’s breeze doesn't reach far, causing noticeable temperature differences. So this time, I tried placing the OIA Mega Air Light Circulator in front of the living room air conditioner. Rather than using it as a fan to feel the breeze directly, I focused on using it to push the cold air from the AC toward the living room and kitchen areas.

The reason for placing it in front of the living room air conditioner

A circulator might look similar to a fan, but its purpose is a little different. Fans tend to deliver wind directly to your body, while circulators are better at moving air throughout a space. When placed in front of an air conditioner, it prevents the cold air from staying in one spot and pushes it further into the interior. The spot I chose was right in front of the living room air conditioner. At first, I thought about placing it where I could feel the breeze directly, but after trying it, I found it works better receiving the air from the AC and sending it farther. When the oscillation is on, the cold air spreads not only within the living room but also toward the kitchen.

In summer, sometimes creating good airflow is more comfortable than lowering the air conditioner temperature. In such situations, the OIA Mega Air Light Circulator serves as a practical auxiliary device.

First impression: small size but definite purpose

The first thing I noticed about the product was that the fan is smaller than I expected. It felt smaller in person than in photos, which surprised me a bit. However, as a circulator is designed to focus wind from a small fan and send it far, I understood this aspect while using it.

Though the fan is small, the airflow feels concentrated and different from regular fans. Instead of just cooling a nearby spot, it pushes air steadily in one direction. This difference was more noticeable when placed in front of the living room air conditioner.

Because of its moderate size, it didn’t take up much space even when placed in a corner of the living room. It’s less bulky than large fans and easy to move around when needed.

Adjustable 2-step height and LED design element

I personally liked the design. It features an LED in the center and a clean white exterior that blends well in the living room without standing out. While performance is important for home appliances, design matters since these products are often visible.

What I especially appreciated was the 2-step height adjustment. You can use it short by default or connect the included rod to make it a stand fan. This feature felt quite important to the design of the OIA Mega Air Light Circulator. Keeping it low helps move air near the floor, while raising it lets you direct airflow better around sofas or beds. In the living room, I preferred using it as a stand fan to spread the air conditioner’s breeze more widely. The cable management was also neat enough not to look messy after setup.

Wind strength and noise tuned for everyday use

Wind power can be adjusted in eight steps. Since I used it in front of an air conditioner, I rarely needed the highest setting. I mostly kept it below level 6, and even then it moved the living room air effectively without inconvenience.

The noise wasn’t bothersome. Strong airflow naturally produces some sound, but at usual settings, it wasn’t distracting for watching TV or having conversations. If you’re looking for a quiet fan, this aspect makes it worth considering. The remote control is simple and convenient, allowing easy access to wind speed, rotation, and timer without complicated menus.
