The ivory color blends surprisingly well indoors. Black speakers can look very tech-heavy, but the ivory model sits comfortably on living room shelves or white desks without drawing too much attention. The combination of a metal front grill and silicone-like exterior prevents it from looking too rugged—unlike typical camping gear.
The top panel buttons include power, play, volume, LED, and TWS controls for easy access. The icons might take a quick glance to understand, but they’re straightforward after a few uses. Having these controls easily reachable is convenient when using the speaker in the kitchen or on the balcony.
The 40W output becomes especially noticeable in the living room. The Britz BZ-WX9 is a 2-way 40W speaker composed of a 30W mid-bass driver and a 10W tweeter. Though the specs might suggest it’s a loud device, its main advantage indoors is providing comfortable sound at moderate volumes rather than blasting sound.
It’s not just music—watching YouTube videos or movie trailers in the living room also sounds better. Built-in laptop or tablet speakers focus mainly on dialogue, which is fine for speech but reveal their limits when music or sound effects come in. The BZ-WX9 offers deeper bass and wider sound dispersion, serving well as a speaker for videos at home.
The IPX6 water resistance isn’t just for streams or camping. There are many places at home where moisture is nearby—like listening to music while cooking in the kitchen, tending to plants on the balcony, or placing it near a window where it might get splashed. It’s not meant for submersion but lets you worry less about everyday moisture.
This is why it’s called an outdoor speaker—you can use it indoors and easily take it outside without worry. A strap makes it easy to carry by hand, and the non-slip base provides stability on tablets. This is important for imperfect surfaces like camping sites, terraces, or rooftops.
Connectivity options matter for a home speaker. The Britz BZ-WX9 supports Bluetooth 5.3, making it easy to pair with smartphones and tablets. Once paired, reconnecting next time is hassle-free. You can listen on an iPhone in the living room, then switch to a MacBook in your workspace effortlessly.
The USB speaker mode is also useful at home. If you want to use it wired next to a laptop or PC, that option is available. If a dedicated soundbar doesn’t fit on your desk, you can usually use this as a PC speaker and then switch to wireless mode if needed. This flexibility to move it around different rooms is a great advantage.
The RGB LED might not appeal to everyone. It doesn’t add much in bright daylight but acts like a small mood light when dimming the living room lights in the evening. You can turn it off if you find it distracting, which also helps extend battery life when used for long periods at home.
